I AM HOPE
I was someone who always saw life with a silver lining.
I remember looking up to who I saw as my perfect older brother.
I heard the yelling and the door slam.
I saw the anxious expression on my parents faces.
I worried it might be the last memory I had of him.
I thought our family would never be the same.
But I want Change.
I am stronger now.
I think the darkness makes the light that much brighter.
I need to trust God to be the light.
I try to impact lives around me.
I feel hope.
I forgive my brother.
Now I can change.
I will show more compassion.
I choose to put others before myself.
I dream of loving my children as my parents have loved theirs.
I hope to make an impact in kids lives.
I predict challenges to come but,
I know God and family will be the core of who I am and who I will become
I will change.
