Steven is 8 years old. He played at home today.
Ahh mom this is so stupid! "Just do it Steven." Well mom I don't want to do my math because I just don't get it. I mean mom have you seen all the snow outside. All I can do sitting at this window doing my math is think of the cool snow man I could be building, or the snow fort I could sleep in tonight. I mean seriously I don't need school until I am like 10 years old! Oh my gosh there's Jo starting to shovel his driveway. I wonder what he has for me today. 5 dollars, a pop, or some candy! AHH! Mom I have to go help Jo!! I run as fast as I can down the hallway and grab my pants, hoodie. I put on my unmatching, wet socks from earlier this morning and stomped out the front door in my dads ginmormous boots. Grabbing a shovel and my pink gloves I
Dialogue:
Jamie is 20 years old. She fell in love today.
It was raining hard. The streets were empty minus the few stragglers running home late after work. A young women was running across the street, using today's newspaper to cover her already drenched hair. She crashed into the small cafe, the bells signaling her entrance sighing a sign of relief to finally be indoors. After shaking off her wet coat and gently running her fingers through her hair she cautiously looked about her surroundings. The small cafe was fairly empty, but she still quietyly slid into the booth hidden in the corner of the room. She was greated a few minutes later by a tall girl wearing red lip stick and chewing her gum loudly.
"Welcome to A Cup for Two, my name is Liz how can I help you?"
"Um...what teas do you have?"
"Bossa Nova, Lovers Lane, and our special for the day is eternal sunshine."
"Okay. I guess I will have Bossa Nova please."
"Anything else?"
"No thank you."
The girl turned away from the table smacking her gum. The young women watched her go and then turned and pulled a book out of her bag. She opened it quickly and instantly became immersed in its contents. The bells on the door rang again signaling another customer, but the women did not look up to see who had enterd. The customer was a tall young man, dressed casually in jeans and a dark blue long sleeve shirt. He was immediatley greeted by both Liz and the older man working behind the counter.
"Hi Chase how are you today?"said the older man.
"Hi Paul I am doing good? Quite the weather out there today isn't it?"
"Yes but its good for business so I don't mind."
"Thats a good point."
"The regular?"
"Yes thank you Paul."
Turning, chase viewed the half emty cafe. Well even with the whether this place still stays pretty quite. Good ol' Paul hoping the rain will bring business. Poor guy, this place has never been more than half full, even on a good day. Noticing the few people he saw everyday, he was suprised to see a young women tucked away in the corner, absorbed in her book.
"She came in about 10 minutes ago." Chase turned as Liz poured him a cup of coffee. "She was absolutely soaked, looked like she had been outside for awhile."
"It's nice to see a new face in here once in awhile."
"Tell me about it."
"She ordered a cup of Bossa Nova so she definitley hasn't been in here before."
"Oh Liz, did you warn her you make that tea.?
"Haha! Very funny Chase."
"What is she reading?"
"I don't know, I have never seen her before thou."
"No?"
"Probably just passing through."
"Ya, i guess."
As Liz changed the subject and began to ramble on, Chase could not help but glance to the corner one more time. It is as if nothing is around her. She is completley oblivious to he surroundings, enthrawled by her book.
"Chase!"
"What, what?"
"Did you want fruit or chips on the side today?"
"Oh um...fruit, thanks. Did you catch her name?"
"No but if you so interested why don't you go ask her yourself. She probalby thinks your a creep anyway the way you have been staring."
"Haha very funny Liz."
Once again he glanced back at her and decided to go say hi. He walked over and coming up to her table he made a point to clear his throat. Startled the young women glanced up.
"Oh hi. Can I help you?"
"Sorry I did not mean to startle you. You must really be into that book!"
"Ya, I am. It is nice to finally have a moment of silence, alone."
"I totally agree. Whats the book called?"
Showing signs of irritation, she quickly said, "The Great Gatsby." and tying to send a message returned her gaze to the page she was on.
"Oh thats a great book! I think I spark noted back in high school one year."
"Uuha. What was it you needed."
"Oh! Well I walked in and I couldn't help noticing you. You see there is not alot of new people around here, especially around this time of day."
"Well I like this time of day."
"The main reason I came over here was to warn you about the tea you ordered. You won't like it."
Snapping her book shut, the women looked up, "Oh and how do you know what I like?"
